Vibez on the River

Husband, daughter and I dined at Vibez on the River. Upon entering we were advised that the air conditioning on the main level wasn't working therefore we went to the downstairs area. Downstairs we were not greeted, I asked the server if we should seat ourselves. She advised there was no seating but a customer would be leaving shortly or we could sit at the bar. I refused being I didn't want to have my 11 year old daughter sitting at a bar. We were seated a few minutes later at a table. Waitress came but didn't introduce herself. Also never returned to check on us, replenish water, or anything else until it was time to pay the bill. Fried green tomatoes were burned on one side and not cooked on the other, Egg rolls didn't taste like Jerk at all, cabbage was “mushy” per my daughter, lamb chops needed more seasoning, catfish was Crunchy on one side and soggy on the other. Margarita flight was too sweet. Fries were good and salmon bites okay. Sadly it was disappointing. My families food was not prepared with intention, flavor, nor Vibez.

We were excited to try Vibez on the River and the food did not disappoint! The fried green tomatoes were particularly amazing and the Mac and cheese was good. My wife loved her lamb chops and my marry me chicken was good, although it could use more chicken. What was off was the atmosphere. The kitchen is right in the middle so it was incredibly Smokey and hot. Multiple people mentioned the heat. Not sure if the A/C was out but a restaurant shouldn’t get to 85 degrees. All the drinks and plates were plastic which felt incredibly cheap and is really bad for the environment. The heat plus plastic made our waters taste funny. The music was great and I was enjoying it until they played four Justin Timberlake songs in a 30 minute period… a funny complaint but why JT of all people getting multiple plays?? The room was barely decorated and the restaurant did not feel like the hundred plus dollars meal I was charged. Aurora’s got some beautiful restaurants with Touché and Kai… this one could be up there if some more decorations were added. Overall, the food is excellent the server was great but they have some serious issues to fix with the layout, decoration and presentation of the foo

The food was absolutely amazing! I’ve been to Vibez a few times now, and it never disappoints. My absolute favorites are the fried catfish, eggrolls, and the pasta — and trust me, switch your protein to the salmon… it’s incredible! The fried shrimp basket is also a hit, and the caramel cake is a MUST-have. I would highly recommend coming out to support this new restaurant. I can’t wait to go back and try the lamb chops on my next visit!

before it was hot. Still had a decent flavor. Our entree was the lamb chops….some of the thickest and most tastiest I’ve had in some time. Only suggestion would be to cook them well done…we could have asked as well and we did not. No harm no foul! Downstairs had several TVs which is a nice touch. We will be back to try some of the other entrees. Overall great experience 🫶🏾

10/10 highly recommend!! From the service to the food everything was amazing! Our host Jeremiah was awesome. We had the catfish, egg rolls, pasta & sides were all GOOD!! Nothing was mid, it was all 10/10 & will definitely be going back!!
